To fulfill our idea of having more than only rock and roll live recordings for Coach House Sounds, I planned to invite Dave Rempis to be our flagship jazz session. However, I waited almost a year to email him; I wanted to connect with him after our site was live in fear that he might not take the idea seriously without any content posted online… He was incredibly nice the whole time, from our first exchange through his visit to the Coach House last February with Frank Rosaly (an amazing drummer who I'd seen perform with Josh Abrams, Never Enough Hope, Postcards and more). This session was still a first in one sense: it was our videographer Mike's first day at the Coach House and he captured the improvised set on film for you all to witness.
