I emailed Steve Krakow to see if he had any tips on "Secret History of Chicago Music"-esque bands that we could record. He suggested ONO and the band was more than happy to oblige. I tried finding some of their music online but even when searching "ONO band Chicago" in Google, the top hits were all Yoko-related. So I really had no idea what we were in store for and that made the day especially exciting (so did the homemade Grecian cookies that they brought us). Joe Carducci, who attended the session, describes their music as "noise-gospel." That's a succinct way to qualify it, but words definitely do not do ONO any justice.
