I was at the Whistler for an open rock collaboration/jam thing they used to do called "Remember the Maine." The event's coordinator, TJ Tambellini, was telling me about a new band he was about to start with a few others who were in attendance; they were calling the band Verma, which is a popular surname in India. I liked the band name and didn't hear anything from them for a bit. Then all of a sudden, Verma exploded onto the Chicago music scene with an onslaught of material via ubiquitous live shows, tape releases and write-ups. Fast forward a few years and we finally recorded them this past February. Turn Verma on and space out for a bit, it'll be worth your time and you deserve it.
