 
Fred sent an email with the subject line: “can we jam????” and since then I’ve been intrigued with City Center and the rest of Fred’s musical output. Little did I know how prolific a musician he was when booking the session, but upon discovering his breadth of work I was thrilled that he was interested in coming to Coach House Sounds and recording his new band’s ambient space rock. I arrived late to the session, but Doug had them all set up and the session seemed to have gone by in the blink of an eye; they had plenty of time to break down leisurely and grab a bite at Wishbone before loading in at Subterranean later that evening. According to his blog, Fred’s already got a new band up and running called Swimsuit. Perhaps they’ll stop at the coach house when they pass through Chicago…
