A true audio geek's band. Kent had no Nord Shame. He proudly displayed his iPad controlling Ableton Live right next to the digital keyboard. But by far the best addition to the audio geek rig was the keytar that would be pulled out when a song called for a keytar solo. Opposite Kent was Luther alternating from vibes (a very acoustic instrument) and a very old synth (about as far from acoustic you can get without going digital). It was a bit of a spaghetti mess to make sure everything got to tape okay, but they both were complete pros about making sure everything sounded the way it should. Between those two it would be a very geeky, and bleepy aimless sound (which would be good in it's own right). But then Seth and Gillian bring the songs focus and structure. Their performance was a great mesh of everything I love about music: gear, catchy hooks, a rhythm section that has a great groove, and a keytar.
